Plastic couplings can significantly replace welded joints. They are indispensable, especially for anodized profiles.
The steel core in the plastic coupling significantly strengthens the profile connection. These connectors are used in the construction of shelving structures, racks, etc.
Couplers with a steel core and without a core can be combined, e.g. in a shelving assembly - the upper shelf, where there is no such load, connectors with a metal core may not be needed, but cheaper plastic connectors without a core can be used.
Couplings with a steel core are very often used in the construction of aquarium walls due to their variability and strength.
